DISSERTATIONES BOTANICAE
Volume 282: Herrera Bonilla, Oriel: Unter- suchungen zum Salzhaushalt, zur Ökologie und Ökophysiologie der tropischen Küstenhalophyten Sesuvium portulacastrum L. (Aoizoaceae) und Batis maritima L. (Batidaceae). 1997. 3 Photogr. 12 Tab. 61 Fig. XIV, 182 S. gr8vo. Broschiert.
From the English summary: The succulent halophytes Batus maritima and Sesuvium portulacastrum colonize the tropical coasts together withAvicennia germinans. These sites are characterized by high concentrations of NaCl. As a contribution to explain the strategiesof adaptation of these species, the ecophysiological reactions fromSesuvium portulacastrum and Bastis maritima were investigated underdifferent NaCl concentrations. The investigation was conducted insubstratum under laboratory conditions and partly in natural sites. Theanalysed parameters were: growth, water content and succulence, content of minerals, photosynthesis exchange rate, leaf conductance, transpiration and synthesis of malic acid.
