Wild Flowers for All Seasons. 1989. 129 watercolors. 208 p. Hardcover.
This collection of 129 watercolors of New England wildflowers is the result of a collaboration between Anna Vojtech, well-known and widely published botanical artist, and Sir Ghillean Prance, former Senior Vice President for Science at The New York Botanical Garden, Director emeritus of The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and current Scientific Director of The Eden in Cornwall, England. In Wildflowers for All Seasons, Vojtechs paintings are arranged in four sections reflecting seasonal flowering in New Englands coastal and inland areas. Each section is preceded by an introduction by the artist. Each illustration is accompanied by Prances clear and concise text. In addition to common names, scientific name, and plant family, Prance has provided interesting facts about each species, including its history, name derivations, description, natural distribution range, and uses.
