This full colour photographic guide covers the central highlands of Namibia. The area concerned is scenically, geologically and topographically very diverse, providing many habitats and niches for plants and animals. It harbours a high plant diversity, including many endemic species. Over 450 species are covered in this book. The emphasis is on wildflowers, but a few of the most common ferns, grasses and shrubs have also been described. Wherever possible, photographs of the whole plant as well as close-ups of the flower and fruit have been included. A simple description of each plant and a brief overview of distribution, habitat and uses are provided, as well as some common names. Hints of how to tell confusing species apart are also offered.
