The present atlas is intended as a critical cytotaxonomical andchorological check-list of the vascular plants of Slovenia, which is the northernmost area of the Federation of Yugoslavia. This regioncomprises a rich flora that is mainly Central European in itscomposition, although it also touches upon the Mediterranean at thenorthern part of the Adriatic Sea and includes the easternmost Alps anda small part of the Pannonian and Balkan floras. The information included will, thus, serve a much wider area than Slovenia, andbesides be useful for its updating of previously available informationwith many new references.
