In this work the research of 42 years is summarized, based on the examination of more than 212000 herbarium specimens in some 300 collections. 5146 species and infraspecific taxa and hybrids arerecognized in 112 accepted genera of these 7 plant families. A dichotomous key furnishes distinctions of genera and subgeneric groups. Over 15000 scientific synonyms and other nomina rejectanda are listed in alphabetical order. Geographic distribution (incl. 957islands) ets. are given.
