The authors have karyologically studied the 19 Poa species of Swissflora, together with 2 subspecies, one hybrid and several plants with anintermediate phenotype. The chromosome number of over 800 plantsbelonging to 700 populations has been counted from plants collected asmuch as possible in all phytogeographical regions of Switzerland andcultivated in the botanical garden of Neuchatel.
