Abstract: In this work, we study algae in a region of Bolivia known as"La Siberia", owing to its climate characteristics. 243 taxa are citedincluding 15 Cyanophyceae, 13 Euglenophyceae, 4 Chrysophyceae, 2Xanthophyceae, 6 Dinophyceae and 203 Chlorophyta. Eight among them arenew: 1 Oedogonium, 1 Closterium, 1 Actinotaenium, 3 Cosmarium, 2Staurastrum. The discussion emphasizes the comparison between sphagnetaof "La Siberia" and those of Europe. Key words: Algae - Freshwater -Sphagna - Taxonomy - Bolivia.
