Giuseppe Reggio (1758 - 1830) was farmacist at Acireale, near Catania.For his private pleasure he started cultivating Sicilian and exotic plants. He had no intention to publish a scientific work, but wanted to have images of his plants and made Emanuele Grasso paint the plants in his garden, who completed his work in 1811.
