This book is in Japanese and consequently not many of our western customers will be able to read the text, but it offers a tremendous colour-iconography of hundreds of photographs on Japanese fungi covering Plectomycetes, Discomycetes, Pyrenomycetes, Heterobasidiomycetes, Eubasidiomycetes, Hymenomycetidae, more than 380 pages on Agaricales, and finally the Gasteromycetidae. The Latin species index allows easy reference to certain figures.

Compared to the 1st edition from 1988, the expanded and revised edition from 2011 offers changed taxonomy according to the recent DNA based methods, a complete revision of the color iconography, and 16 species (1 new) have been added. Main changes in nomenclature and taxonomy have been included.
