Summary: Distribution maps of 169 species, using the grid mapping system of the Institut floristique belgo-luxembourgeois (4x4 km squares), are presented. Records before and since 1950 are distinguished. For each map comments are given about the ecology, the phytogeographical element, the distribution in the different phytogeographical districts of the area and the status of the species.In the introductive text, the richness in hepatics of the different regions, the rarity and the status of the species are discussed and the general phytogeographical features of the liverwort flora in the are are sketched..
