The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, located in southwestern China and in the central inland region of Asia, is the world's highest plateau and a global biodiversity hotspot. Based on six years of field surveys conducted by the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Tibet Autonomous Region Plateau Biology Institute in 2012, 2015, and 2021-2024, fungal DNA barcoding was performed on collected macrofungi specimens. Combined with morphological studies, 2791 specimens were identified as belonging to 870 species, encompassing 242 genera, 98 families, 22 orders, 6 classes, and 2 phyla. These species were then categorized into five main vegetation types within the region: shrubland, coniferous forest, broadleaf forest, mixed coniferous and broadleaf forest, and alpine meadow. This book systematically presents these macrofungi species according to their respective vegetation types and analyzes their diversity distribution characteristics. The main contents include the characteristics of macrofungi communities under various vegetation types, with a focus on common species, endemic species and representative macrofungi species; a list of macrofungi species under various vegetation types is provided, covering their systematic classification, ecological distribution and economic value evaluation.
