Archäobotanische Untersuchungen in neolithischen Feuchtbodensiedlungen am westlichen Bodensee und in Oberschwaben. 2009. ( Frankfurter Archäologische Schriften / Frankfurt Archaeol. Studies, 10). illus. XII, 147 S. & 1 CD-ROM. - With English summary.
Archaeobotanical investigations in thirty Neolithic wetland settlements in Upper Swabia and by Lake Constance (south-west Germany) provide new information about the ecology and economy in this region between 4000-2500 BC cal. The waterlogged conditions associated with these sites are very favourable for preservation; ca 260 samples contained nearly 1.000.000 plant remains from more than 200 species. Most material (90 %) was both waterlogged and had been deposited under wet conditions. The plant macro-remains present within the cultural layers is the result of multiple abiotic and biotic factors with the largest share brought in with the settlers and their animals
