A list of the 11800 type specimens of Cormophytes preserved in theherbaria of China, including the species and infraspecific taxa of thefamilies (or genera) concerned up to 1986. All the type specimens(holotype and isotype) are arranged in alphabetical order of the taxaconcerned for each family (or genus). Scientific name (also in Chinese),original publication of the taxon in details, type locality, with area,collector's name with the field numbers, date of collection, kinds oftype and the abbreviation of the Herbarium are also given. The fist partof this list comprises the type specimens of the families in Bryophytes,Pteridophytes, and Gymnosperms only. The lists for the families ofAngiosperms to follow in the near future.
