This work is a complete inventory of the vascular flora of the sierras of Gúdar and Javalambre (southern Iberian System, Teruel, Spain). More than 2000 taxa of vascular plants are discussed in it, of which 1710 are considered as belonging to the present flora plus 214 hybrids. To these figures we must add cultivated plants as well as others of doubtful presence.

This work has its antecedent in the work of Professors Salvador Rivas Goday and José Borja Carbonell in their Estudio sobre la vegetación y flórula del macizo de Gúdar y Javalambre (1961), where 1200 species are cited. In these fifty years there have been more advances in the knowledge of the Iberian flora than in all the previous years since the beginning of modern botany, which we have collected in this book.
