This herbarium has a relativelz long history, starting with collections made by Zimmermann in 1902 and conserved at that time at Amani. Now the herbarium house 48,000 specimens of trees, shrubs, herbsaand other plants which belong to 261 families, 1633 genera and 5123 species. Families, species, subspecies and varieties are arrangedalphabeticallz under their respective oders for easy checking.Herbarium or Personal collection numbers followed by their localities,floristic regions and a summarz of distribution in Tanzania are given.
