This book is based on comprehensive surveys and specimen collections conducted from 2013 to 2018 on the plant diversity of the Luoxiao Mountains, and is prepared after taxonomic identification and collation. Among them, ferns are sorted according to the PPGI system (2016), gymnosperms are sorted according to the GPGI system (2011), and angiosperms are sorted according to the APGIV system (2016), with reference to the concept of genus and species classification of FloraofChina.

The book contains a total of 4,442 species of vascular plants in 223 families and 1,289 genera, with an additional 31 subspecies and 307 variants at the subspecies level, of which 4,166 species of 211 families and 1,174 genera of indigenous wild vascular plants are listed, with an additional 31 subspecies and 295 variants at the subspecies level, and the others are escaped, naturalised, invasive, and cultivated species. Relevant biogeographical information, such as habit, habitat, altitude, distribution area, collection number, etc., is recorded for each species, and the distribution areas are arranged according to five medium-sized mountain ranges from north to south, i.e., the Mufu Mountain Range, the Jiuling Mountain Range, the Wugong Mountain Range, the Wanyang Mountain Range, and the Zhuguang Mountain Range.
