This part contains the characters of the family Strophariaceae with akey to the four genera, Hypholoma, Melanotus, Psilocybe & Stropharia.Two genera (Panaeolus and Lacrymaria) of the Coprinaceae are also dealtwith. Details of the latter family can be found in Part 2 of this Flora,but for ease a key is given here to the genera contained in bothfamilies. It is hoped that this work may help towards easier and correctdetermination of species, and also to stimulate others to help inclarifying those records of little known taxa, infrequently recorded andparticularly those in the early parts of this century. It can onlytherefore be considered a preliminary account.
