All the photographs in this collection represent first hand materials gathered by the authors during a long period of investigation and field observation. For example, the photograph of Chimonobambusa szechuanensis Rendle was taken in Washan of Sichuan Province, and the photograph of Dendrocalamus sinicus Chia & J.L.Sun was taken in Xishuangbanna Daizu Zizhizhou of Yunnan Province.
