'Denmarks Basidiesvampe' is a map of the landscape called Basidiomycetes, the most conspicuous main group of the fungal kingdom, which includes, among others, lamellar fungi, agarics, porcini mushrooms, spore fungi, bark fungi, boletus fungi and puffballs.

In connection with the preparation of the identification key, we DNA has been sequenced almost 5,000 collections of Danish fungi, and alo samples from soil have been DAN analyzed.also analyzed DNA. Overall, this has resulted in over 400 fungal species being detected in Denmark for the first time. All are of course included in the Identification Key, which has also been updated with the latest species classification and the newest names.

The book thus constitutes a contemporary catalogue of the fungal biodiversity we find in Danish nature and thus functions not only as a practical tool for mushroom species identification, but also as an invalu
able time marker for our understanding of the basidiomycetes in the year 2024.

The book covers over 4900 mushroom species und is illustrated by over 8000 photographs and drawings of spores and other important information. The key has been prepared with coloured images of characters, plus colour coding of the paths through the key.
