This book deals with133 species of ex-situ cultivated desert plants in 30 families, 79 genera, and Turpan Desert Botanical Garden, Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences. For the arrangement of families, gymnosperms follow the Zheng Wanjun system, and angiosperms follow the Engler system. The Latin names of species are mainly based on the "Flora of China" . The genera and species are arranged in alphabetical order of the Latin names. The introduction of each plant includes taxonomic information such as Chinese name, Latin name, alias, and natural distribution, morphological characteristics of ex-situ cultivation, introduction information, phenological information, key points and main uses of ex-situ cultivation, with color photos showing its species morphological characteristics . The introduction information and phenological information of some species in the book are also collected from the Minqin Desert Botanical Garden of Gansu Institute of Desert Control. For ease of reference, the geographical environment of the relevant botanical garden and an index of Chinese and Latin names are attached to the back of the book
