A posthumous publication. The term 'polypores' employed in the title coincides almost completely with what remains of the Friesian concept after the Boleti and meruloid and cyphelloid elements are excluded and other species of genera such as the IRPEX, LENZITES and SISTOTREMA are added. The Polyporaceae, even in a restricted sense, is shown as being a very heterogeneous family.
