This is a reprinted edition. The coloured maps are added here in a separate pocket. There is also a 1974 reprint available, cloth bound, containing the maps in a separate (4th) volume.

This work isa basic contribution on the Balearan flora. All plants have been observed by the author in loco, thus making possible precise information on the geographical distribution of the plants. The cryptogams have been arranged according to Saccardo and De Toni, the phanerogams are grouped according to Engler's system. 1280 flowering plants have been listed, among the cryptogams the Rhodophyceae have received much attention.
