This volume consists of conspectus and respective monographs. The conspectus contains information of Hangzhou area regarding natural geography, specimen collection history, flora characteristics, plant resources etc. The respective monographs contain characteristics and keys of the families of Lycophytes and Ferns, Gymnosperms, Angiosperms (Saururaceae—Rosaceae). This volume describes flora in 8 districts of Hangzhou (Shangcheng, Xiacheng, Jianggan, Gongshu, Xihu, Binjiang, Xiaoshan, Yuhang), specifically: 22 families, 58 genera, 114 species and 6 varieties of wild Lycophytes and Ferns; 8 families, 18 genera, 30 species and 5 varieties of wild or cultivated Gymnosperms; 49 families, 186 genera, 391 species, 5 subspecies, 39 varieties and 3 forms of wild or cultivated Angiosperms. Noticeably the volume includes 1 new genus and 5 new records of species discovered by the authors. Description of each species includes its scientific name, morphological characteristics, place of origin, growing environment, distribution and use etc. The volume includes 542 illustrations and 50 color photographs on 8 plates. - Volume editors: Wang Ting and Gao Yahong.
