This volume covers the wild flora of the province of Verona, a region that has been studied since the 16th century to an extent rarely seen elsewhere in Europe. It revisits and updates the four previously published flora guides, introducing an innovative feature: highly detailed point distribution maps, accompanied by content that is both scientific and accessible.

The work is based on a georeferenced archive of over 460,000 data points collected since 2000 as part of the Floristic Cartography Project initiated by the Civic Museum of Rovereto and subsequently continued by the Natural History Museum of Verona.

Following an overview of the geographical context, methodology, the history of floristic explorations and some data analysis, the volume presents over 2,100 wild or naturalised species, distributed across a territory ranging from the mild climate of Lake Garda to the peaks of Mount Baldo. Each species is documented with a descriptive sheet, photo, map, altitudinal diagram, flowering period and number of records per era, allowing for an assessment of the evolution of ranges between 1539 and 2025. The fact sheets illustrate the characteristics useful for identification, provincial distribution, habitat, any systematic notes and the first recorder. These are followed by lists of adventitious taxa, hybrids and doubtful entities.

The volume concludes with the locations and dates of the photographs, the bibliography and the indexes of scientific and common names.
