This revision is based on herbarium specimens and studies in the field.Nineteen species are recognized. Seven new species are described. Fulldescriptions, typification, synonymy, locality list, maps and drawingsof floral parts are presented for all taxa, and the history, morphologyand ecology have been investigated. Coelidium has very close affinity tothe genus Amphitalea.
