This illustrated guide presents a total of 264 shrubs and vines, most of those that grow spontaneously in the plains and mountains of the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, and those that are planted as ornamentals in the gardens, streets and squares of towns and cities.

The book offers a brief introduction in which the morphological diversity of the shrubs and lianas and the botanical terminology are explained, some keys illustrated with the main differential elements (leaves, flowers and fruits) of each species to be able to identify it, together with the scientific name and the popular names of each shrub and liana in different languages, as well as a detailed description in which the flowering time is indicated, the environment in which it lives and the region of origin, as well as the uses and some curiosities.
