This work seeks to highlight the need to champion the native plant species of a region that was originally rich in biodiversity and cultural traditions regarding their use, but which we have forgotten due to the advance of so-called progress.

It endeavours to bring those with an interest in the native forest closer to it, enabling them to get to know it through the cultivation of the plants that grow there, and to learn to appreciate the immense mystery of the evolution of life and the countless benefits it offers us.

When visiting an area with native species, you can learn how to propagate them by collecting their seeds, experimenting with sowing them, and encouraging others to do the same in places where these species have been completely lost or are on the verge of extinction. In this way, we will feel part of the ecosystem that encompasses and sustains us, upon which human development depends.

This is a practical handbook with simple guidelines for nursery owners, agricultural producers, amateur growers, gardeners, teachers, professionals in fields related to the natural sciences, and ecological restoration technicians who wish to take on the challenge of germinating and growing native plants, whether for environmental, educational or commercial purposes.
