The Orman Botanical Garden contains a huge collection of plants that comprises 100 plant families, which in turn contain 300 types, 1,000 species and rare species of trees and palm trees. It is considered to be one of the largest bootanical gardens in Egypt. This book offers a historical documentation of the established garden, with an explanation of the stages of its development, as well as a listing of the most important plants in it. The book also includes an updated list of the inventory of the plant species in the garden. The garden was established in 1875 and was part of Khedive Ismail's palace. It was modelled after the Bois de Boulogne forestin Paris.
