Palynology, the study of pollen grains and spores is assuming greatimportance and is attaining the status of a separate discipline. Theobject of this treatise is to present and elucidate the various aspectsof pollen and spores. The chapters are devoted to basic palynology,especially pollen wall ontogeny, pollen and spore morphology and itssystematic significance. Short chapters are devoted to some of theapplied aspects such as: geopalynology, aeropalynology, and forensicpalynology. Practical aspects like processing of pollen, photomicrographs, palynograms are also dealt with. The materialpresented in this book is restricted mainly to the pollen grains offlowering plants.
