Covers 1032 species of the area situated in NE Iran. General chapter dealing with topography, geology, soil, climate, cryptogamic plants and fungi, and wildlife. Followed by presentation of vegetation (closed forest, open woodlands and scrubs, mountain meadows, steppes, halophytic communities,hygrophilous and aquatic communities, fern communities). Finally the main chapter (Flora and mapping) opening with chapters on new species, combinations and new records for Iran, followed by the annotated list of vascular plants, with information on examined material, habitat, distribution or geographic position, chorotype, altitudinal range, growth form, threat categories, local names (for a few species).
