From the preface: This account by Stephen Renvoize shows how rich areserve of diversity is represented by the native grasses of Bahia, thelargest of the states of northeastern Brasil. An intensive study of theBahian grasses has revealed the existence of many new species and evennew genera, in this economically important family.
