Saberes ancestrales. Uso de las plantas medicinales del cantón Cuenca. 2024. 167 p. gr8vo. Paper bd.- In Spanish.
This book traces a journey from the origins of herbal medicine worldwide to the unique characteristics of Ecuador’s geography, and in particular the rural Andes Basin. In its parishes, both near and far, a variety of native medicinal plants were found, as well as introduced plants that have adapted to the climate of the mountains, valleys and micro-watersheds. The research also draws on the knowledge of the taitas and mamas of the Andean communities, whose practice of ancient medicine is worthy of preservation and replication for the present and the future. We invite you to take a journey through these pages, where science, health and well-being come together.
