Abstract: This taxonomic revision of Solanum (Solanaceae) in SouthernBrazil (Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul states) has identified 87 species in two subgenera (Solanum, with 56 species andLeptostmonzm, with 31). Keys, description, geographical distributionmaps and illustrations are provided for the species, with the use of traditional methods of comparative morphology and taxonomy. It wasan important focus to the presence, distribuition and morphology oftrichomes, which are a good taxonomic tool.
