This work represents the first account of the endemic genera of seedplans of the whole of China. Chapters 1 and 2 discuss the generalconcept of endemic genera, centers of endemism within China, thehorizontal and vertical distribution of the endemic genera in China andthe origin of the endemic genera in the flora of China. Descriptionsof the 243 endemic genera, with illustrations, keys to species, habitatdata, economic uses and distribution maps for each genus are in Chapter3. Endemic genera recognized after the first of January 1992 are notincluded. The pollen of 184 endemic genera was examined using light(LM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results are presentedin 184 plates and are accompanied by descriptions of the pollen of eachgenus.
