This book is a monograph on taxonomical studies of the familyPapaveraceae of Indian region. In this book the family Papaveraceae iscircumscribed as per the modern concept and the genera included in thesubfamilies Fumarioideae and Hypecoideae are considered as separatefamilies. The genus Hypecoum is treated under a separate familyHypecoaceae on the basis of study of palynology and seed morphology. Adetailed taxonomic account of this genus is also given.
