The Wild Orchids in Tibet (Xizàng yesheng lán ke zhíwù). 2023. illus. 488 p. gr8vo. Hardcover. - Chinese, with Latin nomenclature.
The Wild Orchids in Tibet, based on the field investigations of the team members of The Orchid Conservation Center of Tibet (OCCT), Tibet Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College, systematically sorts out the resources of orchids in Tibet, with a total of 116. There are 491 genera, of which 110 genera and 410 species are included in the text, including 21 new records in China and 69 new records in Tibet.
The book uses the APG IV classification system and the English version of "Flora of China" as a reference to classify and sort the orchids. Each orchid is described with morphological characteristics and supplemented by pictures taken in the field. Some of the species that did not meet the flowering period when collected in the wild were introduced to the protection base and photographed after flowering. Plants that have not been photographed are only included in the appendix.
It is hoped that the publication of this book will provide basic information for the protection and cultivation, scientific research, popular science education, exchanges and cooperation, and industrial production of wild orchids in Tibet, and provide scientific basis and technical support for the sustainable utilization and development of orchids in the Tibet Autonomous Region.
