This work contains 521 species of plants in the valley of the Three Parallel Rivers in Diqing, belonging to 97 families and 357 genera. Each plant is accompanied by 2-3 exquisite pictures taken in the field. It introduces the plants widely distributed in the valley area in the form of pictures and texts. The pictures show the habitat, flowers, fruits or some other details, so that readers can identify the plants while enjoying the valley species richness and beauty. The basic description of plants is described in Chinese, mainly introducing the Chinese name, Latin scientific name, morphological characteristics, distribution, altitude and habitat. Plants included in the book are arranged according to the plant taxonomy system, among which ferns are arranged according to Qin Renchang system, gymnosperms are arranged according to Zheng Wanjun system, angiosperms are arranged according to Engler system, and genera and species are arranged according to Latin alphabetical order. The Chinese name index and the Latin name index are attached in the appendix for the convenience of readers.
