This book contains 968 species of vascular plants of 87 families and 371 genera (including infraspecific units), covering more than 95% of the vascular plant species in the reserve, and it is the most comprehensive and accurate botanical background information of the reserve so far. The book contains two major parts - the General Theory and the Individual Theory, in which the General Theory gives a comprehensive account of the vascular plant resources of the Reserve, and the Individual Theory gives a detailed description of the vascular plants of each taxon, with references to Flora of China for the ordering and systematic classification of the various taxa.

The description of each plant species includes its Chinese name, scientific name, family and genus to which it belongs, main morphological identifying features, as well as its distribution range, habitat and altitude in the reserve, and is accompanied by one to four colour photographs reflecting its main identifying features. The Chinese names and scientific names of the plants are approved based on the Chinese Flora, and the distribution range of the plants in the protected area is specific to each ditch system, which is arranged in the order from east to west, from the main ditch to the branch ditches. An index of Chinese names and an index of scientific names are attached to the back of the book, which makes it easy for readers to find them quickly.
