Vegegraphy of China.
Volume 4:1: Gu Huiyan: Korean Pine Broad-Leaved Foresst (Zhongguó zhíbèi zhì (dì 4 juan dì 1 cè hóng song kuò yè hùnjiao lín)). 2026. 254 p. gr8vo. Paper bd. - Chinese, ith Latin nomenclature).
Building upon a comprehensive overview of Korean pine –broad-leaved mixed forests globally and within China, this volume systematically describes the geographical distribution, natural environment, ecological characteristics, species composition, and community structure of a single *syntaxon* (comprising four *syntaxon groups* and 33 *syntaxa* or communities) of this forest type in China—all substantiated by empirical quadrat data. Furthermore, the volume details the classification and description of these *syntaxon groups* and *syntaxa*, the biological characteristics of dominant species, biomass and productivity, vegetation dynamics and succession, as well as conservation value and strategies. Rich in detailed data and profusely illustrated, this volume draws upon extensive prior research and voucher quadrats, and is accompanied by photographs that vividly depict the physiognomy and structure of the communities. Appended to the volume are a checklist of vegetation types, a checklist of plant species, and indices for both Chinese common names and scientific names of the vegetation types. This volume serves as a fundamental resource for scientific research and education in the fields of biodiversity conservation and vegetation regionalization; it also offers a valuable reference for forest land managers and decision-makers involved in land-use planning.
