The eighth volume of Flora Agarcicina Neerlandica is dedicated to the genus Cortinarius. Around 280 species occurring in the Netherlands and Flanders (Belgium) are fully and in detail des­cribed, and illustrated with numerous colour photographs and line drawings of microscopical characters. Keys to all species are given. References are also given to extralimital species. New in this volume are the phylogenetic trees based on the barcode region ITS. Distribution data on occurrence of the species in the Netherlands and Flanders are included, and molecular information from Genbank and the United Database was used to evaluate the distribution outside the area covered by this volume.
