"The Orchidaceae of Mexico" does not pretend to be more than it is - a list of the species of Mexican orchids with their synonyms; a description of each of the genera of orchids known to occur in Mexico and a key to those species now known in Mexico is given. It is hoped that a generic description will assist in determining these; a key to the species should assist in the determination of the Mexican kinds. A statement of the range of each species is given, in general terms outside of Mexico but I have tried to list each of the Mexican states from which a specimen has been seen. A few words of discussion are added in many instances. Specific descriptions would have added much to the value of the work. (Quoted from the preface).
