This album consists of four parts: Superior Timber Tree Species; Rareand Valuable Tree Species; Economic Tree Species and Gene Pool of TreeSpecies, and compiles 174 species and 238 pictures according to theclassification system. "The Map of Forest Resources Distribution inHunan" and "The Sketch Map showing the Distribution of Rare and ValuableTree Species in Hunan" were attached to the album as an epitome of theresources of tree species in Hunan. The distribution, morphologicalcharacters and major uses of each species are also briefly introduced.Both Chinese and English description along with the photographs areadopted in order to meet the need of opening to the outside world. Mostof the species in the album are the original species in Hunan and onlya few species are successfully introduced which have the value ofextending cultivation.
