Yunnan is located at the intersection of East Asian flora and Himalayan flora, and at the intersection of Pan-Arctic flora and Paleotropical flora. The ecological environment is extremely complex, and it is a gathering place for many rare floras in the world. There are more than 8,000 woody plant species in the country, and more than 5,300 species are in Yunnan. There are more than 800 tree species that make up the forests of Yunnan. The unique rare tree species also rank first in the country, and it is known as the "Kingdom of Plants". Such rich woody plant resources have broad prospects for development and utilization in terms of land management, economic prosperity, and ecological environment change. This book records the wild and cultivated tree species in Yunnan, and shrubs and vines with greater economic value are appropriately included. It is divided into three volumes: upper, middle, and lower, and each volume records about 600 to 700 woody plants. The preface describes the tree species that grow in different environments from the perspective of forest ecology; the individual parts record more than 2,500 tree species in Yunnan, introduce the method of identifying tree species from the perspective of tree classification, and propose forestry production technology knowledge for each tree species, so that forestry workers can easily apply it and develop forestry in the right place and right tree. This atlas not only records the morphological characteristics, geographical distribution, ecological environment, afforestation technology, wood properties, economic value and uses of trees, but also has detailed anatomical diagrams for each species, which is easy for readers to understand. It is not only a work of high academic value, but also a necessary reference book for forestry worker
