Green books are professional publications in which the an overview of endangered original and domesticated species, and the Green Book: Croatian original grape varieties is a unique overview of the original assortment of grapevines that we can still find in Croatia - 125 original varieties. In it, for the first time in the world, a classification of the threat of domesticated varieties was made, according to the criteria of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) for the categorization of the threat of wild species, adapted for domesticated varieties. Also, protection measures were proposed with the aim of preserving the original genetic resources as one of the strategic guidelines within the global goal of stopping the reduction of biological diversity.
